Initial Reintegration Training

Conducted immediately upon return, prior to the Service Member’s Homecoming, at the demobilization. The purpose of the Initial Reintegration Training is to connect service members with service providers who can assist them in overcoming the challenges of reintegration.

“Thank a Soldier” workshops, conducted by the Minnesota National Guard and Minnesota Departments of Military and Veterans Affairs representatives accomplishes the following:

  • Every returning Service Member is registered for the Veterans Administration entitlement program
  • Service Members will be informed of their Veterans benefits
  • Assistance with re-employment and enrolls Service Members into employment transition services
  • Trains Service Members on personal vehicle driver safety
  • Identifies high-risk Service Members and plans are established for follow-on care
  • Provides legal briefings and legal assistance

30-Day Reintegration Training

Conducted within the first month after deployment, this is the first of two family-focused events that reconnect Service Members and their families with community service partners. In a reunion-like atmosphere, the family unit reaffirms what benefits they are entitled to and what resources are available to help them to overcome the challenges of reintegration. Specifically, this phase of reintegration training focuses on:

  • Assisting Service Members in identifying the signs and symptoms of combat stress, addressing family relationship issues and facilitating follow-on care
  • Presenting post-deployment Battlemind Training that focuses on transitioning combat zone behaviors and attitudes to “home-zone” behaviors
  • Providing follow-on marriage and parenting counseling from Pre-Deployment Training
  • Access to service partners for explanations of all benefits available to combat veterans
  • Certified Public Accountants provide workshops to help Service Members understand their finances and live within their budget. Service Members can also recieve one-on-one assistance by emailing soldiers@baskfieldcpa.com.

60-Day Reintegration Training

This follow-on family event is designed to address and mitigate negative behaviors related to combat stress and transition. A series of military and government service conducted seminars consist of:

  • Group discussion sessions on stress and anger management techniques
  • Workshops addressing compulsive behavior prevention
  • Minnesota State Patrol briefings explaining changes in Minnesota laws since the Service Members’ deployment
  • Certified Public Accountants provide workshops to help Service Members understand their finances and live within their budget. Service Members can also recieve one-on-one assistance by emailing soldier@baskfieldcpa.com.

90-Day Reintegration Training

This training is designed for the Service Member only, it is focused on the conduct of a thorough Post Deployment Health Re-assessment (PDHRA) inventory of all equipment, and an administrative close-out of all active duty related personnel actions. Civilian and military service providers on hand at this event include Minnesota Guard Medical and Chaplain Teams and representatives from Federal, State, and County Veterans Services Offices.

Monthly Individual Reintegration Training (MIRT)

A one-day reintegration training event for individual Service Members released from active duty. The program mirrors the 30 day reintegration training. The MIRT provides the individual transitioning Soldier an opportunity to learn about the specific challenges of reintegration unique to their situations and to understand what resources are available.
