New SAT/Act PowerPrep for Free

In alliance with the DoD and supported by a group of patriotic NFL players, eKnowledge is donating the latest version of their SAT/ACT Test Prep Programs FREE to Military Servicemembers and their extended families. The donated SAT/ACT PowerPrep software retails for $200. The advanced eKnowledge PowerPrep features special SAT/ACT test prep content in a highly personalized virtual learning environment. The new SAT/ACT software gives the student access to over 20 hours of Virtual Classroom instruction and 3,000 files of supplemental test prep material. Thousands of interactive diagnostic tools, sample questions, practice tests and graphic teaching illustrations are indexed for easy use. The new PowerPrep software is MAC and Vista compatible. Military Child Education Coalition


The Military Child Education Coalition (external link) is a non-profit, world-wide organization that is focused on ensuring quality educational opportunities for all military childrent affected by mobility, family separation, and transition.

Operation Military Kids Hidden Heros Workshop:

This is a free workshop available to anyone in the community, including educators, who would like to become aware of how to best support those families with "suddenly military" youth before, during and after a deployment. Operation Military Kids Hidden Heros Workshop (external link) will learn to help their military students by identiflying with their fears and concerns, while being sensitive to military youth and their unique needs.



Hero Packs

Through Project Backpack, you can register for a free Hero Backpack or apply for a Scholarship. Minnesota Veteran Family Support (MVFS) (external link) supplies Backpacks and Scholarships to the families of deployed, recently returned, wounded/disabled, MIA and KIA military families.

On Deployment Kids (external link) you can find deployment information, games, and craft ideas for children that have deployed parents.

PBS Teachers

PBS Teachers (external link) is PBS' national web destination for high-quality preK-12 educational resources. Here you'll find classroom materials suitable for a wide range of subjects and grade levels. We provide thousands of lesson plans, teaching activities, on-demand video assets, and interactive games and simulations.
