Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Austin

Beyond the Yellow Ribbon of Austin was proclaimed on July 27, 2012. They have provided a great example of how Yellow Ribbon Networks can work together to make a difference. They received word that a Vietnam veteran was in an Austin nursing home with no family or friends nearby. That very day, they sent members of their network to visit with him.

In addition, they have taken care of today's veteran, by organizing deployment departure and welcome home events. They also provided free family portraits for the families prior to deployments. They support military families by hosting community events like their recent sponshorship of a U.S. military all-star baseball game and their presentation of a U.S. flag to the family of an area Soldier who was killed in Afghanistan.

This network has so many partnerships throughout the community, that they hold committee meetings during the day and evening so everyone is able to attend.
