Domestic Violence

Domestic violence involves physical harm (slapping, kicking, pushing, throwing things, sexual assault, threatening with a weapon, ect.) or emotional and verbal abuse (name calling, constant ridiculing, verbal threats, ect.). It may come from a person's need to feel powerful and in control of another person's behavior and actions.

If a Servicemember or family member believes that he/she is a victim of domestic violence, their first priority is to ensure that they are safe and remain safe. Networks of assistance are in place throughout the state that may provide shelter.
