Lakeville

Before being proclaimed Yellow Ribbon on Sep. 22, 2010, Lakeville experienced plenty of loss and tragedy. After two Servicemembers were killed, the community paid tribute to the two brave veterans at their largest community event on the 4th of July, raising money to donate a bench for the two. Later, another Lakeville veteran, Kyle Malin, lost both legs while fighting in Lakeville, and the community still celebrates his heroism on "Kyle Malin Day," June 27, 2011.
