Yellow Ribbon of Plymouth
A few Plymouth law enforcement officials were the fire starters of this Beyond the Yellow Ribbon initiative. A proposal was presented to the Plymouth City Council, which jumped on board in the spring of 2010, leading up to Plymouth's proclamation as a Yellow Ribbon City on Aug. 23, 2011.
Volunteers within the Plymouth community have since taken efforts to get the Yellow Ribbon message out. An informational booth to identify military members and families was displayed at the Plymouth on Parade event, and professional family photos were provided to Servicemembers preparing for deployment. Also, reintegration training is provided to all of Plymouth's sworn police officers and fire fighters.
